About Us
Your Neighborhood, Our Neighborhood
Richwood Tire & Auto, LLC, has been providing Complete Auto Service to Richwood and the surrounding areas under current family ownership since 1982. We enjoy living and working in our small community and we pride ourselves on our close-to-home values. Our Senior Technicians have an average of over 20 years of experience and have certifications in ASE. In order to repair today’s automobiles our shop is equipped with the latest diagnostic tools to communicate with even the newest cars. This assures accurate diagnosis and expedient repairs.
Our History
Ted Kavanagh, previous owner of Richwood Tire & Auto, bought the business in 1982, when it was chiefly a tire and alignment shop. Bringing his experience from the auto repair industry and in starter and alternator rebuilding, over the years he transformed it into a full service auto repair shop, while still maintaining tire and alignment service.
Our Senior Technicians, Kerry Wallace and Chris Sellers together have over 45 years of experience in the auto repair industry. They have each worked at other garages, gaining valuable experience, and have now moved on to be our most valuable asset at RTC, our problem solvers. They each have over 10 years experience at RTC. No problem is too difficult when these two put their heads together. We have the training and dedication to resolve issues that others sometimes can’t. They have both built and raced cars of their own, ranging from drag cars to stock cars, so they are familiar with the performance end of the business as well.
Second generation owner, Tracy Kavanagh grew up fixing mowers and cars with his dad, and worked for him at RTC while in high school and college. After obtaining his Bachelor's of Science at OSU, he spent the next 19 years employed in the food manufacturing industry working in research and development, supervision, quality assurance, engineering, and validation. In 2006, due to his father's health, Tracy and his wife Dawn bought the family business. His experience in industry has given him the understanding of the importance of quality and engineering, which is crucial in making sure your car is fixed right, and professionalism, which helps assure the customer's needs come first. Tracy's wife Dawn takes care of the bookkeeping and payroll, and helps wherever needed. Their sons Kody and Conner, who are learning the trade, also help part time making it a full family business.

As a customer you get the benefit, because Richwood Tire & Auto Complete Automotive is outfitted with today's best, up to date equipment, tools and skills, and we're dedicated to providing an honest and more genuine style of auto service, and “customer care”.
Community Involvement
At RTC, we value family and community.
We support the local sports programs and community activities and charities as much as possible.
We also serve as the community collection station for Cans for Kids, an effort by the Alladin Shrine to raise money for burn hospitals by collecting donated aluminum cans. Last year the Union County Shrine raised $110,000 from Cans for Kids. The year before that it was $107,000. We head up the can collection for this end of the county here at RTC because we care about the community and about sick kids. This money goes to Shriners Hostpitals for Children.
